What kind of equipment does SDSDRA use?

SDSDRA has a RaceAmerica timing system.  The tree is a .400 light with an 18 inch staging area.  Results and times are fed to the start line and printed for each race.  Times are available for review following the race.  SDSDRA also uses a REBCO scale system with aluminum platform to weigh racers and sleds for teching prior to the race.

Are there any special rules for racing?

SDSDRA races are sanctioned by ISR which governs the technical specifications for racing.  An ISR rule book can be obtained from the SDSDRA office.  All sleds including Trail Stock must have a functioning tether switch.  Racers must wear helmets and ankle-high boots.  Pro Stock and Mod class racers must also wear flack jackets and shin guards.  Each sled must meet the minimum weight provided by ISR for each model or class.  Ballast can be added to meet weight requirements.  Sleds must be weighed and qualified prior to the race.
